“AN OLD GLORYOUS CELEBRATION”

Campaign Kicks-Off with Flag Flying Pledge

ELIZABETH, New Jersey (May 22, 2007) - - Star-spangled spirit will abound at Jersey Gardens as it joins hundreds of shopping centers across the nation in kicking-off An Old Gloryous Celebration, promoting patriotism and the American flag.  The campaign launches over Memorial Day weekend with a community pledge drive to raise the flag across America this Flag Day, June 14.

An Old Gloryous Celebration 2007 - - a national patriotic effort by the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC) - - is supported by Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and AMVETS (American Veterans), two of the nation’s most prominent veterans organizations. Local Boys & Girls Scouts troops, military recruitment offices, and junior ROTC groups are supporting the local campaign.

The community is encouraged to visit Jersey Gardens this weekend through June 14^th to pledge to fly Old Glory on Flag Day.  Shoppers can pledge their support to fly the flag at the Concierge Desk on the lower level of the mall.  Participants will receive a free stick flag and will be recognized in displays throughout the center.  As well, a donation from the proceeds of our License to Shop discount card, sold at the Concierge Desk now through June 14^th, will be made to a local veterans group.

“Patriotism is alive at Jersey Gardens and we are urging the community to come out over the Memorial Day weekend to pledge to fly the flag this Flag Day and join us for a patriotic celebration on Thursday, June 14th,” said Crystal Stell, Marketing Director. “These simple actions will make a huge impact with a community united for our country.”

The pledge drive will be held through Flag Day when Jersey Gardens will join other shopping centers across the county for An Old Gloryous Celebration - - a day of patriotic activities in honor of America and U.S. troops and veterans.  “This Flag Day, we will see star-spangled spirit throughout the city as Old Glory flies freely.”

An Old Gloryous Celebration, a national Flag Day campaign led by the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. (ICSC), unites communities in a commemoration of patriotism and the American flag. This year hundreds of shopping centers representing leading developers and individual properties are taking part in the program, including Glimcher Realty Trust.
