NJPAC and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater present Hip-Hop Dance Demonstration at Jersey Gardens
Hip-hop dance workshop and demonstration FREE and open to the public
Sunday, May 1 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater teaching artist Keith Lewis will conduct a one-hour workshop and demonstration on hip hop dance techniques, examining the energy, movement and rhythm of African-American social dances. Children ages 10 and older as well as adults are invited to participate.
The workshop highlights Judith Jamison’s new ballet titled, Love Stories, which includes elements of hip-hop dance set to the digitally remixed sounds of Stevie Wonder. The company will perform the new work for the first time in Newark during its annual engagement at NJPAC, May 6-8, 2005
