Bloodstock 2004 Blood Drive

 

"BLOODSTOCK SUMMER 2004" -SPECIAL HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE STUDENT BLOOD DRIVE TO HELP OFFSET SUMMER BLOOD SHORTAGE

 

NEW JERSEY, JULY 30, 2004 --New Jersey Blood Services (NJBS) announces the very first  "BLOODSTOCK SUMMER 2004" blood drive for High School & College students 17 to 20 years old at the Jersey Gardens on Monday, August 9 from 2-7:30PM.  Donors will be eligible to win an awesome DREAM E-PACKAGE which includes an IBM laptop, printer, digital camera I-Pod & Palm Pilot.  All who donate or attempt to donate will also receive a special "BLOODSTOCK 2004" t-shirt.

 "We depend on the donations from our high school and college students during the school year because they represent 20 to 25% of all the blood we collect.  Now we are asking them to support their community this summer by donating blood.  Their donations will help us with the blood shortage and they will have the opportunity to win an e-package", states Maggie O´Shea, Executive Director & Vice President of New Jersey Blood Services.

            Jersey Gardens Mall personnel echoed O’Shea’s comments: “We are delighted to offer our customers, and young adults in particular, the chance to make a real life-saving difference in their community,” said Crystal Stell, Jersey Gardens Mall Marketing Director.

                   

Blood donors must be at least age 17, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. All donors benefit from a free mini medical exam including review of their pulse rate, blood pressure, iron count and temperature. Donors will need a photo or signature ID and knowledge of Social Security Number.
